Jana Stanfield’s Keynote Concert
Audio-Visual Needs

Jana Stanfield is a singer-songwriter-speaker who plays the guitar during her program and performs songs that she has written for people like Reba McEntire and Andy Williams. Her power lies in her ability to engage the audience. Her show will have greatest impact if you can provide a theatre setting or theatre-style seating.

Jana Stanfield Provides:

  1. Wireless UHF headset vocal mic with multiple frequency choices and a male XLR cord to plug it into the mixer.
  2. Wireless UHF guitar mic with multiple frequency choices and a male XLR cord to plug it into the mixer.

Audio Requirements:

  1. A good public address system that includes a mixer and good speakers. Speakers on stands are preferred over ceiling speakers because they give a better quality sound for music.
  2. A stand-alone mixer with 2 channels open so that Jana can plug in two male XLR jacks from the 2 wireless microphones (one for guitar, one for vocals) she provides.
  3. One mic on an adjustable stand, not attached to a podium, with cord to send the sound through the mixer. (This can be the announcement mic.)
  4. CD player with connection cable to send the music through the mixer.
  5. CD player operator to start and stop the songs. (This doesn’t have to be a sound engineer. It can be a member of the sponsoring group.)
  6. 4 open audio channels total will be needed on the mixer for Jana’s performance, which will cover the 3 microphones and the CD player.
Will the podium mike work for Jana?
The answer is 'no'.
For audio visual requirements,
see "AV Checklist."

If any of these 6 requirements cannot be provided, please contact the event planner immediately to make arrangements. All 6 requirements are necessary in order for Jana Stanfield to perform.

Jana needs a 30-minute block of time to set up her equipment and do a sound check with the sound engineer at least 90 minutes before the program. This can be done early in the morning or the day before the program. Please schedule this with Jana through the event planner.

Visual Requirements

  • To provide everyone a good view and the best possible experience: If Jana will not be performing in a theatre or a theatre-like venue, we require a portable riser stage, preferably 8 x 12. If the group is over 200 people, it’s best to have a riser that is at least 18 inches off the floor. Please set the stage as close to the audience as possible, or seat the audience as close to the stage as possible. For an audience of 350 or more, an amplified light package greatly increases the impact of the presentation. Two light stands are ideal, along with a spotlight if possible.
  • To eliminate audience distraction: Please do not have anyone sitting on stage during Jana’s program. We require a performance space that is separate from the lectern/head table area. If a podium is being used, please remove it from the stage before Jana’s performance begins.
  • To give Jana a place to put her notes and water onstage, please provide a small table (the size of a piano bench is fine) with 2 water bottles on it or several glasses of water without ice. This is easier for her to handle onstage with her guitar than an entire pitcher of ice water. It will look a lot better if you can add a plant or flowers to camouflage the water bottles. Set this just to Jana’s left onstage so she can glance at her notes as she plays guitar.
  • To make Jana’s CD’s available, please provide a long table in a well-lit, high traffic area where they can be viewed before and after the show. She will be happy to autograph CDs and pose for photos with audience members there immediately after the performance.

Jana Stanfield’s Audio Visual Needs
for Workshops or Break-Out Sessions

Jana Stanfield plays the guitar and sings in addition to her speaking.

She provides her own UHF wireless microphone system. She needs a mixer and sound system with enough channels to accommodate the three channels she needs in addition to the open channels needed for the announcement mics or mics for other speakers.

Jana provides:
Two wireless microphones and receivers (a wireless headset mic for her voice and an instrument mic for her guitar). Both systems are Lectosonics UHF with multiple frequency settings.

In addition, she will need:

  • Mixer and sound system to amplify the sound in the room.
  • 2 channels open on the mixer for Jana’s wireless microphones.
  • CD player that plugs into the mixer for amplification.
  • 4 back-up batteries (9 volt)

Please place the mixing set-up at the front of the room where Jana can reach it to operate the CD player and adjust the equipment.

Please have a sound technician meet Jana 45 minutes before the program to guarantee that all the equipment works together to deliver great sound for participants.

If Jana’s microphones will be used for a keynote and a break-out session, she’ll need help tearing the equipment down from one place, moving it, and setting it all up again in another. A 90-minute block of time will be needed for this transition, along with a cart and an assistant.

If possible, schedule the break-out in the same room as the keynote so that the same equipment can be used.

If you should have any questions, please call 1-888-530-JANA.
