Recording artist Jana Stanfield brings her music with meaning to (city) this week with a concert at (location, time date). Stanfield is known as “The Queen of Heavy Mental,” which she describes as “psychotherapy you can dance to.” Stanfield got her start writing songs for others. Her songs are sung by artists like Reba McEntire, Gary Morris, Suzy Bogguss, and Andy Williams. As a performer, Stanfield has shared stages with entertainers ranging from The Dixie Chicks to Lily Tomlin to Kenny Loggins. When big record companies weren’t interested in putting out her positive, uplifting recordings, Stanfield did the only thing she could. She started a record company. She began touring with the motto, “Where two or more are gathered, I’ll bring my guitar and my albums.” Since 1991 she has built a mailing list of 18,000 fans and has sold nearly 100,000 albums at her shows. In her concerts, Jana Stanfield combines music with a message that entertains, inspires and encourages. Stanfield sees herself as a musician with a mission. Her mission is to give audiences a faith-lift. “If people are willing to spend four minutes listening to one of my songs, I want to give them music with meaning. I want to give them strength, courage and hope.” In addition to her volunteer work with kids each summer at Muscular Dystrophy camps, Stanfield also does fund-raising concerts and performs annually on the national broadcast of the Jerry Lewis Telethon. She has eight CDs out. You might relate to the title of one of them. It’s called, “I’m Not Lost, I’m Exploring.” | ||
